Crazy talk

I am driving my wife absolutely bonkers! I was laid off for 5 months
and felt that I NEEDED to get back to work, NEEDED. I had a few job
offers and took one that I thought was a good fit for myself and my
family. After a month, I have come to realize the job itself is good,
the people are idiots, and the commute sucks big donkey balls! I
spend a minimum of two hours on my commute each day, minimum. Usually
it is close to three. Now that is three hours I could spend with my
beautiful wife and the beans. That three hours is precious. That
three hours is why I have am interview tomorrow and why I NEED to stop
switching jobs ( such is life as a salesperson). Family first folks!
But in order to have the option of time you need to have the coin to
take care of the family. Such is life.

Rainy Monday

The rain is pounding on my windshield and as the wipers clean the
glass I can see the parking lot that is route 276. It stares at me
laughing and letting me know that I have no control over this
situation. I watch as the rain drops fill the indentations in the
road. With a jerk of the car I downshift from second to first and
release the clutch. That was fun! I smile as I watch thbother drivers
wait in line with me.

I wonder what are you doing? What are you writing? What is the
weather like where you are? What would you say if we ever met? Will
we ever meet? I know some of you personally and would love to meet
the rest, someday.

I wonder if I will find a place to work that will be part of my life,
instead of an interruption to my life.

I wonder about this healthcare bill?!?

Hmm, I wonder if this traffic will let up.

I wonder if Bell Biv Devoe could make another hit?

Let's talk about ---

Me being at work with nothing to do but blog on old el bloggo - el
neglected blogo. And I have nothing to say. Nadda zip zilch. It's St
Paddys day, yet that doesn't mean much - well in the hayday it sure
did, but now just another day. Hmmm. I do know these dress shirts
and ties are killing my neck, yet they look snazzy so it is a trade
off. Other than that it is the same old same old around PJ land. My
diet has been impeccable for the past few months and I have been
working out a little, running a little and my goal of mowing the lawn
sans shirt this summer should be attainable. Yep, that's it. Oh wait,
I do have a plant and a fish in my office - cool huh!

Happy hump day.

What is real

This entire work thing seems pretty backwards to me. I am sitting
here drinking my tea, shirt and tie on, while looking out of the
window. The grass is back and I can see some green on the trees. I
want to sit here all day and explain to the beans all of what is going
on outside. Explain why the birds are back and the squirrels are full
of hustle. Heck, probably even take a nice long walk. Instead of
that I am going to hustle out of my door and get my little car in line
with all of the other cars to take me to a place that I am still
deciding if I want to be there or not. This work thing is getting in
the way of life. It is necessary, and even sometimes rewarding, yet
not what I like to deam as the important part of my day. The hours
spent with family are where the life part happens. It is only
Wednesday, awesome.

Size em up

How do you not come to a new job and size people up. Especially
dealing with sales and sales equations. How do you not look around
and see who is going to be in your way for that number one spot. Who
is a piker? Who comes in at 9am signs in and goes to get their coffee
and bs while I am on the phones working the magic! Who is who and
what is what? Let's get it on.

Happy Friday people.

Drive in...

The drive in to work was kind of brutal today. I am here a bit early
ready to get my blogging straight. I can't tell you that i wasn't
Teary eyed for a good bit of my commute. Now I know what wifey had to
deal with going back to work. I always knew it was hard for her,
really hard or her. Now I know that it is really hard for me. I
guess that is some of what makes a good parent. To quote a good band
" it is so hard to say goodbye to yesterday." the beans asked my why
I was dressed up today and I said that daddy had to go to work. Her
reply was, well, who is gonna take care of me? When I told her nana
and pop pop were back on duty she was pretty excited and started to
pack all of the toys that she wanted to take with her. She gave me
hugs an kisses, cheeks an noses, butterflies and eyebrows, pounds and
hi fives- and then I made her do them all again.

Wish me luck! I am back to the grind!

Work

I start work again this week. I will be doing admissions/sales for a
tech school/ college and really hope to be able to get back to
blogging on a more consistent basis. I am not thrilled about leaving
my mr. Mom post, yet I have to do what I have to do. It was a
tremendous 5 months and I learned more from that little girl than I
ever thought possible. It is with a heavy heart that daddy heads to "
work " this week.
